TOSHIBA'S BILL MELO TO SPEAK ABOUT MANAGED PRINT SERVICES AT 2011 LYRA IMAGING SYMPOSIUM

Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that Bill Melo, vice president, Marketing, Services and Solutions for TABS, will be a featured speaker during the upcoming Lyra Imaging Symposium, taking place January 24-26, 2011, at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa, Rancho Mirage, Calif.  

Toshiba is a pioneer in the field of managed print services (MPS), and for nearly a decade has been leading their dealers into being more than just copier providers, but rather, MPS professionals offering an ongoing service. During his presentation, Melo will discuss the industry’s “new normal” and explain, using industry research, how viewing one’s business in this manner can quadruple market opportunities. He will also discuss how security and environmental sustainability initiatives play a key role in any valuable MPS solution.

About Bill Melo

With nearly 20 years in the industry, Bill Melo currently serves as vice president, Marketing, Services and Solutions for TABS. Prior to serving in his current role, Melo was director, Managed Services for TABS, where he managed the development and delivery of Toshiba's Encompass and Print Management programs, the industry's leading document management and output optimization services. In developing Encompass Online, Melo has leveraged his extensive experience developing Web-based applications for the document imaging industry. 

Melo was the lead inventor on a U.S. patent for Internet-enabled broadcast printing in 2002, and is the lead inventor on two other applications, one in the field of Internet-based monitoring systems for printers and copiers, and the other for Toshiba's Encompass Online application.

Melo is a graduate of Toshiba's Six Sigma certification program and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State College in New Jersey and a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University.
